FLYING STARS ’ 2013 Feng Shui Forecast for The Year of Water Snake

Annual Flying Stars 2013

Feng Shui for the Year of the Water Snake

February 10, 2013 to January 30, 2014

Years of the Snake are:

•    4 February 1905 – 24 January 1906: Wood Snake
•    23 January 1917 – 10 February 1918: Fire Snake
•    10 February 1929 – 29 January 1930: Earth Snake
•    27 January 1941 – 14 February 1942: Metal Snake
•    14 February 1953 – 2 February 1954: Water Snake
•    2 February 1965 – 20 January 1966: Wood Snake
•    18 February 1977 – 6 February 1978: Fire Snake
•    6 February 1989 – 26 January 1990: Earth Snake
•    23 January 2001 – 11 February 2002: Metal Snake
•    10 February 2013 – 30 January 2014: Water Snake
•    29 January 2025 – 16 February 2026: Wood Snake
•    15 February 2037 – 3 February 2038: Fire Snake

People born in the Year of the Snake are decisive and active, stimulated by thoughtful debate and interesting conversations. But if conversation becomes repetitive their attention wanders and they become impatient and intolerant. They are also overconfident and often refuse to listen to constructive advise.  But mostly sensitive and even afraid of being proven wrong. When faced with dilemma Snake becomes cold and reserved, but this is what gives them full clarity of the vision on situation and enables them to act decisively. They act with speed and conviction when are committed to task. Often, when required task is accomplished Snake takes time to fully relax and wind down. Snakes escape and withdraw into private world as suddenly as they get involved in something they find interesting. They usually have old and trusting friend and are very caring. They always protect important personal relationships  with great passion. But their anger is fast to arouse and Snakes become extremely retaliating if they feel slightest hurt or think someone taking advantage of their trust. Extremely jealous partners, yet do not want themselves to feel trapped. Often have one set of ruled for themselves and another for their partner, always keeping eye on partners activities. But when romantically involved, Snakes are very caring, loving and playful and with the right partner will eventually reveal their  fears and discuss their own weakness, but this will take some time and patience. Ideally Snakes like to have partner who will give then freedom, yet security of sharing intimate moments in relaxed and cozy surroundings. In business Snakes are better suited for independent jobs, when no on tells them how and what to do. They are courageous and very determined. Best suited for jobs in public relationships sphere, politics, law and as  entrepreneur. They are most compatible with Ox, Rooster and Monkey. Least compatible with Pig.
The Snake is the sixth sign of the Chinese Zodiac. Traditionally, year of the Snake associated with Fire element, Color Red (good fortune) and South/South East direction( late hours of the morning) as well as YANG energy in general ( hot, heavy and dynamic). Fire works in harmony with the element of Earth, but is overwhelmed by the element of Water.
2013 however is the year of Water Snake, that  begins on February 4th, 2013 and ends on Jenuary 30th, 2014. It is 30th year within 60 year cycle, it is also called “Snake in the Grass” or  “Kuei Szu” in traditional chinese astrology. Fire Snake in a Water Year can bring  unexpected conflicts, as energies are in complete opposition. 2013 can be seen as not a very peaceful year, because Water and Fire are in conflict with each other.

I decided to include Element Relationships chart this year for a  better understanding.

General Characteristics of the Elements
Wood represents Benevolence. The element of wood corresponds to the fate, loveliness or nobleness, representing growth, blooming, flourishing etc.
Fire represents Propriety. The element of fire corresponds to the feature, strength, hardness or softness, represents power, influence, bravery and intensity.
Metal represents Righteousness. The element of metal corresponds to the life span, longevity as well as any dangers, difficulties or dead ends.
Water represents Wisdom. The element of the water corresponds to the talents, intelligence or absence of it, represents accuracy, specifics, etc.
Earth represents Fidelity and Honesty. The element of earth corresponds to the social status, material success (rich or poor), represents birth and growth of everything.

The Five Elements relationships with Signs:

As mentioned in the grid, the five elements can be regarded as the symbols of the five planets, Metal, Wood, Water, Fire Earth corresponding to Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Saturn.

According to the cycle of “birth and destruction” between elements, Water destroys  Fire. Fire is the destroyer, while Water is a symbol of conflict. In 2013 the most dangerous months will be April,  June, July and August. This can result in multinational conflicts and even wars, both internal and external. Conflict of these two specific energies are usually very volatile and can bring  unexpected natural disasters, floods, earthquakes and fires. Great example of similar annual energies in the year 2002. 2013 may also bring more sex crimes and sex scandals due to this energetic conflict. So this year we all need to be triple cautious.

The five basic elements in nature also correspond to different parts of our body. Water for example represents  kidney, and fire our heart function as well as blood circulation system. This may indicate easy triggers of  diseases related to each element, the heart, blood and kidneys. The strong fire element also in conflicting with the metal, and Metal  represents our respiration and the skin. So in the year of Black Snake, there will be more cases or asthmatic reactions, lung and skin cancers and other diseases related to these organs. Variety of airborn viruses may also become more intense. This can also indicate high risk of injuries related to Metal: bikes, cars, planes, knives, guns etc. So this is year we all need to take extra precautions both inside and outside our homes. Since the elemental energy is Water and the color that corresponds with Water element is black, 2013 is the year of Black Snake.
Positive side is that Water energy also corresponds to the virtue, patience, understanding, cooperation, support and nurturing. So the year 2013 may bring our attention back to our family life, solidifying already established relationships and unity. It may also become a time for true reconciliation and peace making. Generally speaking this year will be very unpredictable. We should focus all our efforts on forgiveness, generosity, creativity, arts and health. Try to take care more of others, some of yourself,  and everything else will follow. Of cause, DO USE ALL NECESSARY CURES recommended by Feng Shui professionals.
“The Annual Flying Stars Forecast” of Feng Shui is very important. It calculates every particular combination of energies for the year, and helps us take precautions against destructive influences. It also helps us strengthen the effect of the good stars. Knowing annual Flying Star, you can know what areas of your life will be positive during year, and what areas, on contrary, may be dangerous. This is very important, because, if, for example, your bed or table located in the wrong sector of your home, they should be temporarily rearranged, if possible. Using certain Feng Shui techniques, bad stars can be neutralized, and good stars can be increases.

The first most important part of Feng Shui Annual Forecast are 4 Annual Afflictions:

Tai Sui or Grand Duke of Jupiter, Sui Po or The Year Breaker and The Three Killings and 5 Yellow

Tai Sui or Grand Duke of Jupiter (“General of Time Gods”(Yin Jiao)
Tai Sui or Tai Shui, is a very important aspect of Chinese Astrology. It is mostly known as the Grand Duke of Jupiter. It is an intangible energy body of War-like nature, that should not be disturbed. The Tai Sui or sometimes called Year Authority, is a commanding post that has total control over that particular year. The Chinese Lunar Year Cycle has 60 years and so there are 60 Tai Sui, with every year having a different Tai Sui. In Taoism Tai Sui also called “General of Time Gods”(Yin Jiao). Tai Sui sometime refers to the rotation of Jupiter. According to Taoism there are 60 Gods that have duty of observing and  managing hour, day, month and year. These 60 Gods are also deities that  governs every heavenly body in the sky. Tai Sui is rotated within the 60 Jia Zi (Jupiter) yearly and whose responsibility is to command the earth. He is the most powerful Year Duty God of the Earthly deities. Tai Sui wields control over all other deities except the Jade Emperor, thus portraying great authority and power. He is a deity that no one dares to offend. Many people do not understand the implications that are entailed when a horoscope is deemed to be in conflict with Tai Sui. Fear and confusion are usually generated. The position of Tai Sui corresponds to the year Earth branch (the animal sign of the year) of any given year. In the compass it occupies 15 degrees. The position of Tai Sui changes in the first day of the first month of the Chinese solar calendar, generally this day falls on 4th of February in the Gregorian Calendar, with minor exceptions, similar to the year 2012.

These are the exact degrees of Tai Sui in the next 2 years:

9th Feb 2013 – 3rd Feb 2014 142.6-157.5 degrees SE3 – Snake (Si)

Basically, Tai Sui is sticking around for almost 2 years in the South East sector, with only the degree placement variation. Last year it was in SE2. I put full review and detailed explanation of cures for this sector below, under South East.

Five Yellow 5 star in 2013 located at the Center.

5 Yellow is also one of the most deadly afflictions of the year. It is considered the annual misfortune star. And being in the Center of the house at this point it becomes almost unavoidable and cures will be essential for everyone. I will list all necessities under Center section.

Sui Po or Tsui Po, generally, doesn’t create any problems until it is disturbed. By disturbance, ones again, Feng Shui means renovations, repairs, construction, digging in the area. It is not considered to be bad, if your house faces the Sui Po direction, but you need to exert caution if your house is sitting on Sui Po. (In Feng Shui sitting direction is direction of the backyard or the back wall opposite to the front door,or back of the building.)
This rule is the same, as the Feng Shui Tai Sui rule: a house that sits on Tai Sui-faces Sui Po and vise versa. And because it is considered bad to face Tai Sui, it is bad sitting on Sui Po. So, it is best to remember, NOT TO disturb this area for the particular year.

In 2013 Sui Po occupies North West (322.6 – 337.5). You should consider this area to be the second Tai Sui – no noise, no floor or wall disturbances, no renovations or any loud or bouncing activities recommended. All detailed cures for this sector  are listed under North West.

Finally last major affliction – The 3 Killings. In 2013 sector of 3 Killings moved to the EAST. When disturbed, 3 Killings tend to bring sickness and health issues, as well as multiple confrontations. Same as with the previous two afflictions-Do not disturb this sector. But unlike the Tai Sui, Do not sit with the 3 killings behind you. Instead, you should actually face the 3 killings. As a cure Place 3 Chi Lin in this sector. Detailed cures and explanations under East below.

NORTH, Flying star 1 White

In 2013, 1 positioned in the North. This star, KAN, represents a Water element.  It also corresponds to human ear, kidney and blood flow. Which means when this star is afflicted we can be more receptive to conditions and disorders, related to these organs. In general this star affects overall career and luck. North as well as White 1 both correspond to  element of Water. Generally this star is responsible for our reputation, name, social status and fame(or lack of such). But Water energy of the White 1 can also cause problems with the lungs and the head, as well as depression and unsettled emotional states. So people sleeping in the North sector need to place preventive cures here to prevent health issues related to Water element imbalance.

In 2013 North is a great sector for people involved in philosophy, writing, religion, scientific research or have a career related to creativity in general. This sector is also good for couples trying to either conceive or make their relationships more official. In 2013 North is especially beneficial sector for people with Gua numbers 8 and 9, Middle son ( if you have one), as well as people born in the year of the Rat. Because this is predominantly Yang sector, some Yin features must be added to the North to keep this area well balanced. Avoid wood element and too many wood objects and shapes (Rectangular) in this sector, because Wood weakens the energy of the Water. Instead use more Metal element shapes (Round) and colors.

Avoid  using green and brown tones, as well as yellow, orange, red, purple and pink tones in decorating of this sector. It is ok if you already have a red walls or furniture, just add accents of the Metal and Water elements: Black, Blue, Silver, White and Gray. You don not have to repaint your entire home every year, because flying stars move and change direction. Just decrease specific element’s effect by  including it’s colors. In this case it is the , white, blues, black, gray or silver-grey tones. If you have a red walls you can simply add the metal pictures frames and  blue slip covers and toss pillows to reduce conflict of the energy. Use the  similar blue/silver and white  scale tones  if the North sector is your bedroom or kitchen. If it is your kitchen simply replace red dishes and accessories with the blue once for a year and you are good to go.

Specific Feng Shui cures for the North are indoor fountains and aquariums, Dragon headed Tortoise, round singing bowls, bells  and images or statues of the Horses. You can also hang Six Rod Wind chime in this sector, it can be placed either on the outside, on the roof of your house or simply hang indoors. Traditional Victory banner wind chime is the best, but if you do not use very traditional cures – simply use 6 metal rod wind chime.

Summary for NORTH:

Be extra careful

NO EARTH AND RED TONES, NO WOOD and FIRE in this sector. DO NOT use fireplace in the North if you have one here. Wait until 2014. If this is area of your stove, place metal elements around to balance possible energy conflict.

USE BLUE, WHITE AND GRAY TONES and shapes of Metal and Water elements.

Remove all the plants from the North, if you have any here and replace it with indoor fountain or Aquarium instead.

Place Dragon headed Tortoise next to the singing bowl or Metal bell.  Place any Round Metal objects in this sector as well.

Hang 6 hollow rod metal wind chimes

Use Blue, Black, Gray and white  tones accessories in your decoration ( bedding in bedroom, plates in the kitchen, metal picture frames, etc).

Horse image or Statue

SOUTH WEST, Flying star 2 Black

Black 2 represent Earth as well as South West bagua area. This combination is a controlling force and can cause health problems. In general 2 considered to be an illness star. The life area connected to the South West area of the home is  Love, Relationships & Marriage. So this is definitely area where you want to avoid sleeping and spending too much during this year. If activated this sector could lead to multiple health and relationship issues and problems. This is definitely the sector need to be avoided by anyone who is pregnant or trying to conceive.  If you can change the bedroom or main room located in this area do it. If change is not possible-try to cure the effect and spend less time in this area. This is especially dangerous sector for people born in the year of the Sheep and Monkey, as well as mothers or grandmother’s of the family. This sickness star could lead to decease in the areas of the abdomen, reproductive system,  stomach and digestive organs. This star affects the health the most, but also can bring bad luck, stress, back stabbing, family harmony and distress. This can especially effect people whose Gua numbers are 1, 3 or 4.

The best cure for this sector is also Metal element and anything associated with it (colors and round shape), but in particular Metal Wu Lou. Earth is also increased and aggravated by Fire, so remove all Fire elements and shapes from this area as well. Do not use any candles, lighting and noise making electronics in this sector, if possible.  If not – reduce use of all electronic equipment in South West to the minimum and definitely avoid slamming the doors and proceeding with any major repairs in this sector. If it is unavoidable either-place metal rod wind chimes in this area both on the inside and the outside and then proceed with caution.  Avoid Fire element colors and triangular or sharp shapes in this sector. Use Blue, white and gray/silver tones in decorating. Place metal singing bowl and Wu Lou in this area to prevent loss of health. You can also place Round Lapis Lazuli Rocks in this sector as it has ability to heal sickness energy. This is also the perfect sector for the Salt Water Cure. Make sure to hang the Ba Gua mirror outside to deflect these negative energies.

South West is definitely the area where you would place Salt Water Cure. This is actually an ancient cure, but it has widely spread in the past years among Feng Shui practitioners thanks to the great British Feng Shui adviser, Michael Hanna©. Last year Lillian Too also began selling “pre-built” Salt water cure . ( This is an actual picture of the one I owe). It is great looking and almost looks as an art piece vase, but personally I prefer home made cure, as it is easy to make, almost priceless (under $10.00) and you will feel no regret when you dispose it next year.

To make this cure you will need 6 Chinese metal coins, 1/2 or salt and glass container. Make sure you place it on the additional plate or non-damaging surface(stone plate or glass plate are the best), as the salt will begin to “grow” during the year. Fill the container with salt, about 1/3. Place coins in the circle and fill remaining space with water. Place in afflicted area and DO NOT TOUCH it until ready to dispose before new year.

The key to this cure is not to be disturbed, as Salt gathers all negative energies within and growth as a result. Make sure you DO NOT touch, spill or flip over this container all year. You do need to add water as a year progresses, but do it carefully without disturbing the container itself, by simply poring it from the top. When you ready to dispose it next year, do it by covering container with plastic bag first and try not to touch it with your bare hands. NEVER DISPOSE IT INTO YOUR TOILET OR SINK, you will be basically poring out your last year negative energy into your plumbing…

You should also place a 6 Chinese coins tied with red ribbon in this area, as well as round metal singing bowl or any round metal object. I love to use Bells as well, so if you like non traditional cures bell is one of the best. If South West is your bathroom  it is great, but you can still prevent negative energies from emerging into the rest of the house by placing a little glass bowl with Lapis Lazuli rocks and scented bath salt on top of the toilet tank or somewhere above the toilet. Same as with the regular Salt Water cure-try not to disturb this bowl too much. I personally love this cure and actually use it every year, weather location afflicted or not. This works as decorative piece, as well as negative energies protector during the years when your bathroom may fall into afflicted financial sector.

Metal Wu Lou and Black Obsidian Wu Lou would also be a great cures if this is your bedroom. If you can not avoid sleeping in this sector – try to at least move your headboard to the different direction this year. If this is not possible either make sure to place the Salt water Cure and Wu Lou beside you bed. You can use Black Obsidian, Black Tourmaline, and Lapis Lazuli crystals as they convert negative energies into positive.

Summary for SOUTH WEST:

Place Ba Gua mirror outside your door or window, regardless of your front door position, but especially if this is your main door.

Do not use the Fire and Earth element or colors in this sector. Remove any rocks in your garden if they are part of your landscape and replace with some metal rounded decorative items.

Place Metal or Obsidian Wu Lou in this sector

Place round plate or Metal Singing Bowl in this area

Place 6 Chinese coins tied with red ribbon

Salt water cure

Use white, silver, black colors

EAST, Flying star 3 Green, Three Killings affliction

In 2013 East is the area of arguments and misunderstandings. This is area of The Three Killings in 2013. Traditionally East is ares of health and family, representing Wood element. So in 2013 family relationships and relationships between family members in general will be the most effected. Especially if East is your front door or main room, or the bedroom. Green 3 brings in loud arguments, disputes, legal issues, bad tempers, and sometimes, loss of wealth and divorce. It is also the location of the oldest son in the flying chart. So if your son’s residing in East sector will feel more aggravated in 2013. It will particularly affect people born in the year of the Tiger, Rabbit and Dragon. Health issues related to the liver, gall bladder, feet and arms may also arise. This is bad area for couples trying to conceive as it also affects productivity organs. Relationships between spouses may become very tense, and may even lead to divorce if not cures properly. This star can also lead to variety of the court issues.  The best cure for this sector is the Fire element and everything related to it. But DO NOT make excessive noise in this sector as well as proceed with any repairs. The Fire energy eliminates negative effect of the Wood energy of this star, so place as many red objects, triangles, pyramids and candles in this area as you can.

Red Dragon image or statue is especially recommended for Tiger, Rabbit or Dragon (or the First son). Both at work and at home. This will  protect from possible back-stabbing and lawsuits. Remove ANY Water or Wood element items from this sector and replace them with the Fire, especially if East is your main door or bedroom. Use a lot of lights. Candles, lamps or even Christmas lights.  All shades of Red (pink, purple, burgundy, peach). Do not however use any Brown, Green or Water element colors.  If you are using lamp preferably use the one with ceramic base and red tone shade. Make sure you DO NOT use peach color shades in bedroom, as it is invitation for infidelity.

Hang a Ba Gua mirror outside your East door or the window to cure conflicting energies. If this is your front door, place bright light that you can keep on all night outside. There are many great solar lights right now on the market and if you have a room and ability you can even create light walkway from either red or pyramid shaped lights in front of the entrance. Both (red and pyramid or triangle shape) represent Fire Element and along with light itself would be a great double cure.

Do not disturb this area with loud noises and if you can move major electronics ( like stereo systems, home theater, TV, fax machine, fan, air conditioner or even computer) away from East corner of the house, room or office. Simply move it to another non-afflicted area for this year. Use RED crystals and RED dragons and Chi Ling statue of image as part of the traditional cures.

If this is your laundry room, for example, and vibrations are unavoidable, use the fire element to counteract negative effect, as well as place Salt Water cure near the washer or dryer, somewhere above the appliances.

Summary for EAST:

FIRE, FIRE AND MORE FIRE

Do NOT hang wind chimes in EAST

DO NOT place any Water elements and items in this sector. Remove the fountain or fish tank from the East for the duration of this year.

NO PLANTS

No loud noise and equipment, no outside construction

DO Use a lot of lights, Red tones and pyramid shaped objects in design

SOUTH EAST, Flying star 4 Green

This is star of Creativity, Romance and Scholastic success. Great area for single person’s bedroom, elder daughter in the family and people born in the year of the Dragon or the Snake. This star is often called “Romantic Peach Blossom Star”. This means that love and academics will be the most successful in this sector of the home. Single people looking for love should try to move their bedroom into this sector in 2013, and all students should study in South East corner of the house. This is the Wood star and it increases by element Water. But in 2013 this is also locating of the Tai Sui and need to be cured. So if you like indoor fountain you can place a little one in this area, but do not place huge Aquarium here as it will rotten the Wood and may bring infidelity into your relationships. DO NOT place aquarium in the bedroom. This is location for your Mandarin Ducks and pink crystals. Images of Dragon & Phoenix, couples and anything that speaks “Love” are welcomed in this sector. If this is kids room place their desk on the South East wall or simply move the study area into this sector of the home. To counteract effect of Tai Sui place a pair of Pi Yao in this sector to pacify effect of negative energies.

Use Calligraphy set in this area,  Globes, Maps and any educational materials as wall decorations. You can also use 9 Level Pagoda as traditional enrichment cure,  image  or statue of the Carps and Chi Lings. Monkey sitting on Elephant and Ru Yi symbol are another traditional cures for career luck In ancient China. Elephant is the very auspicious animal. It uses its strength, prudence and acknowledgement to push him to higher level. Ru Yi is the symbol of good luck, wealth and power. Both are good cure for your career.

To make Romance luck even more prominent use images or statue of Dragon and Phoenix, Mandarin Ducks or Dragon headed Tortoise in South East sector. But to protect from Ta Sui- place pair of Pi Yao here as well. Preferred colors in the South East sector are blue and black, as well as white, silver and cream. Do not use Fire colors or actual fire elements in this area. If this is your bedroom, to make sure your relationships would work smoothly, place  amethyst crystal with the red string under your bed. Make sure it is placed somewhere under your feel and not near the headboard. This cure also protects couples from unwanted 3rd part interference. If you are trying to get pregnant South East would be perfect location for the bedroom as well. Place  seeds or images of the seeds in this area to enhance fertility. All metal cures need to be removed from this area. They may cause relationship problems instead.

Summary for SOUTH EAST:

Pair of Pi Yao statues or picture

Dragon and Phoenix image, Dragon Headed Tortoise, Mandarin Ducks, Carps, Monkey on the Elephant

Crystal Globe and Calligraphy set, Ru Yi

Black seeds in a glass bowl or its images for fertility

Images of Peach Blossom is also great

No excessive water

No red tones

No metal

CENTER,  Flying star 5,  Five Yellow Affliction

Do not disturb the ground (both inside or outside) in the Center, until at least February 3rd, 2014…

If it is at all not possible make sure you have all cures in place and hang 6 rod metal wind chime between construction site and the location requiring repairs in this sector.  It is understandable that emergencies do happen and plumbing, roof or water damaged floors may need to be repaired asap, so we can not always fully avoid disturbance simply based on Feng Shui advise on annual afflictions. Life is life. But if it possible-avoid anything major in this area, as it seems to be the ” double-trouble” sector in 2013.  As I said earlier, DO NOT disturb the ground of this area, or at least try.

The good news – it is almost impossible to have a facing door in the Center, (unless you live in the Yurt and enter through the stairs from below). The bad news is – every household will be effected, as every property does has Center. So, EVERYONE must be extra careful and place cures in the Center this year.

Try not to slam the door in this sector ( if you have one here)  too often, ask the kids and visitors to be more gentle. DO NOT renovate or dig (plant the garden or simply disturb the soil outside) in this part of the property for entire year, if possible of cause. Five Yellow ( Wu Wang) is one of the strongest killing energies of the year.  Very unfavorable star that causes multiple problems: sickness, legal losses, tragedies, accidents, death and obstacles in any business or personal plans. By being located in the CENTER Earth energy is doubled, very strong and will be even more agitated. It will affect everyone in the household (or the office). DO NOT USE any form of Water at the Wu Wang sector either. Yang Water will activate Wu Wang by bringing out its evil energy causing more issues. Do not dig, drill, hammer, knock, jump, etc. Open or close the door softly and gently to reduce the bad vibration of the door, wall and floor. If you have kids-Do not let them play in the sector, both outside and inside.

Keep away any Fire elements out of the South East. This also means to keep lights in this sector to its minimum, both inside and outside. Just Say NO to RED COLOR in this area, period! And NO CANDLES, laps, excessive lighting. Do NOT have red carpet, red furniture, red curtain or any red objects in the Center. Avoid triangular-shaped objects, as they represent Fire element as well. Keep this area somewhat dimmed with limited illumination. Basically, Wu Wang is Earth element in nature. Metal element cures used to reduce Wu Wang’s Earth energy, as Metal weakens the Earth. So simplest cure-remove anything associated with Fire element ( shapes, colors and materials) including all objects that move (chimes and fans), home electronics ( speakers, TV, fax machine, etc) from this area. Avoid anything red or open burning flame in this sector,  so definitely NO CANDLES. Fire will strengthen the Earth energy of Wu Wang. This is conflict of the elements Fire-Earth.

Place Five Element Pagoda with the metal coins in the Center as well.  As alternative or additional cure, place round golden-yellow color objects in the Center as well. You can use either traditional golden coins or just items made of gold and yellow color, preferably round in shape and made out of Metal. But in overall-Traditional 5-element pagoda is the best cure for this sector. It will exhaust the Earth energy of the Wu Wang. If you do use the traditional Pagoda (one from the picture) – make sure you do not forget to fill in with the dirt or soil before placing it in the sector. Remove last year’s soil from it, clean and fill it with fresh soil for the year 2013. Hang the Ba Gua mirror in this sector (facing outside the front door), and place Salt Water cure here as well. This will diffuse negative energies well.

Summary for CENTER:

No FIRE Element  ( colors, shape, materials)

No WATER Element ( colors, shapes, materials)

NO NOISE

Place Salt Water Cure, 5 elements Pagoda, Pair of Pi Yao, Metal coins and Ba Gua Mirror.

NORTH WEST, Flying star 6 White

6 White star also called “The Heavenly”  and associated with the Cosmic energies. It brings success in career and education. This is an excellent star, especially for someone involved in spiritual matters or development of spiritual qualities. Images of any religious objects you value or admire can definitely be placed here.  In 2013 it is located in North West. It corresponds to father or oldest men of the family, but in terms of health-can bring potential health complications related to kidneys and lower extremities.

This is excellent star for gamblers or investors.  To increase positive effect of this star use Yang energy in North West. This means this sector should be active, loud and energetic. Use images or statues of Horses and Dragons. This star is Metal element, so it increases by Metal or Earth (crystal) energy. Use silver, yellow, gold and grey colors. DO NOT use plants, water or lights to much. They will weaken the energy of the 6. To elevate effect you can place Golden or Yellow Crystal ball and 6 smooth coins for wealth or career luck. Number 6 is great for this sector as well. This means that you can use 6 coins, 6 rod wind chimes, 6 horses, etc. Otherwise-no cures really needed, this is great safe sector of the home in 2013.

If this sector falls on your Bathroom or utility room, prevent Chi from leaving with your money by placing metal objects in the area and adding silver, yellow or gold accessories (Towels or soap dish, etc). Always keep you toilet cover closed. Check your plumbing for any leaks to prevent  your money from”leaking into the drain”. You can hang picture of the Dragons in the bathroom as well, but DO NOT place any statues on the toilet.

Summary for NORTH WEST:

Use silver, yellow, gold and grey colors

DO NOT use plants, water or too much light

Golden or Yellow Crystal ball

6 coins, 6 rod wind chimes

Image or statue of Horses and Dragons

Be loud and happy here!

WEST, Flying star  7 Red

This is star of  Robbery and Hostility. In 2013 it is located in the West, bringing burglary and violence. This star affects the luck of head of the household, as well as oldest male. This year it can indicate danger due to metal arms or any other weapons and males in the family need extra protection against physical danger. Especially if this is your front door or any other entrance. Red (Fire element) star located in a Metal element sector represents blood loss caused by metal objects (knives, swords, guns, cutlery, etc). It creates hostility and dangers,  especially for people with bedroom in this part of the home, main office or living room. Be extra careful if your front door located in the WEST. One of the cures for this energy is to to use Water, as it weakens its Metal. Blue Rhino and Blue Elephant are the most effective cure for the West sector in 2013. This could either be an image of both or the statue or both or each. I prefer natural stones as material for my statues, so it can be Rhino made out of Lapis Lazuli or any other blue natural crystal. Or you can use glass or plastic statue, as long as they are blue. Place it in the West sector facing outside. There are many great feng shui cure sites right now that also provide all small versions of the most cures that can be carried around, such as key chains and amulets. This year having key chain with Rhino and Elephant is a good idea in general.

Another great cure for this sector is Golden Pi Yao. Pi Yao, however,  should be placed facing East in the West corner of the West sector. I hope this makes sense, if not please ask me and I will drew the placement picture.

Outside cures are Ba Gua mirror, that will also protects from any poison arrows outside. I place Ba Gua on the outside even if this is my window. So this year, if  West is not your door, you can place the Ba Gua outside the window frame simply for extra protection. Most Feng Shui sites, including Lillian Too and Michael Hanna, whose software I use for reports, do insist not to use any crystals in West. However they do not provide description or specifics of the crystals that not supposed to be used. I personally agree that clear quartz or any colored clear crystals should not be placed in West, I do however disagree about use of Black protective stones.

I always use Black Tourmaline and Obsidian as protection in any afflicted area. But this is just my personal preference. I am not professionally licensed specialist and simply sharing this free personal knowledge that I have been lucky to acquire over the years. I do use variety of professional software, as well as multiple books for generating these reports, but I also use common sense and personal practical experience. Many Feng Shui practitioners simply do not use these stones as part of cures because they can be expensive to generate in big quantities. With this said I do use Black Tourmaline in  West, as well as East sectors as part of the cures to convert negative energies into positive. This is my personal preference and experience, nothing more. But it works for me this is why I am inclined to share it.

To dispel any negative energies of 7 Red,  you can make outside energy grid by using Black Tourmaline crystals. I do it by placing small geodes of Tourmaline on the outside edges of my home. If you live in apartment you can place it on the outside your window frame, patio or balcony. Black Tourmaline is a powerful stone for protection against negative energy of all kinds. It is also very strong spiritual grounding stone. This is one of the most popular crystals to be used for metaphysical purposes. I believe this is one of the best protection stone that you can use against negativity. It is powerful for healing and for psychic protection. Black Tourmaline also helps when we feel generally negative, or when you encounter other people who are giving off negative vibrations. It will also act to protect you against psychic attack, and electromagnetic waves. I am personally very sensitive to geomagnetic fields and use Tourmaline on every piece of electronics in the house. It has ability to purify the area where they are located.  With all this said, West being most physically violent area on the Flying stars chart great place for Protective crystals.

Black obsidian performs similar functions and can be used as a great alternative. I placed Obsidian and Tourmaline crystals in the West room. I also have them in the bathroom in a small clear glass bowl. Even through this is not major area of my home, it still carries negative effects of the Red 7. No harm to protect household from accidents.

Great idea to place Salt Water Cure in the West, as well as the Wu Lou, especially if this is your bedroom or any important room.

This is good location for Aquarium or Indoor Fountain. Just make sure that the water is always clean and replaced if needed. DO NOT USE Metal or Fire elements and colors in the West ( Wu Lou better to be natural or ceramic in this sector). And try not to make any loud noise in this sector as well. Use all the precautions of the East sector in this area as well.

Summary for WEST:

Keep it quiet and dim

Use Blue or black tones

Pi Yao and Blue Rhino with Elephant

Ba Gua Mirror outside

Black Tourmaline or Black Obsidian

DO NOT use Fire elements or colors and shapes

No excessive lighting

Natural Wu Lou

Salt Water Cure

NORTH EAST, Flying star  8 White

This is the most auspicious star, it is most beneficial for the youngest child in the family. This is one of the luckiest star in Period 8. It represents wealth, prosperity, good fortune and success in general. In 2013, this star is in it’s own location (North East) which makes it double lucky. This sector is especially great for any money projects, financial success, and is specifically lucky for people born in the year of Ox or Tiger, as well as youngest males in the family. To increase positive effect of this star use Fire Element. Use bright lights, accessories of red color,  and anything that has strong Fire energy.

Number 8 is great cure for this sector. This is also great area for blue crystals, anything that has number 8 on it or in the shape of infinity. Place either picture of the “8″ or statue of the “Infinity” shape here.  If you like to use traditional Feng Shui cures you can place images or statue of Wealth gods here. Or just place Golden Ingot, Dragons, Wealth Vases and Ships. Just make sure if you place Ship it is facing inside the house and not “sailing out” with your fortune through your front door. Metal weakens energy of the good Earth element, do not use metal as a cure in a North East.

In 2013  North East is the area of any indoor water features, fountain or aquarium. Water features should not be placed inside bedrooms. If this is your bedroom use Blue or multicolored crystals instead. Do not place any living plants in this area either, as they will downgrade effect of this star, with exception of the actual aquarium if you use plants as enhancement for your fishes. Preferred number of the Gold fishes is number “8″. You can also use wall scroll of 8 Gold Fishes as alternative.

If North East is your bedroom you can use couple symbols and Mandarin Ducks here, help your Romance to blossom. You can also use the same “Amethyst with red string” cure here. You can also place your 3 legged frog or Crystal Money Tree here to improve your Wealth luck. If this is your office  Ru Yi and Crystal Tree will also elevate your career and money luck in 2013.  Use Red tones in all decorative items.  This is are that should be loud as possible all year around. So don’t be afraid to play loud music or watch TV in this sector, as well as allowing your children to spend more time in this room in 2013.

Summary for NORTH EAST:

RED and BLUE colors

Crystals, crystals, crystals

Number 8 and symbol of Infinity

SOUTH, Flying star 9 Purple

Traditionally this is area of Future Wealth. In 2013 it can bring new career opportunities, especially if your main home or office door located here, but being in the South it could also bring the bad luck as it creates too much Fire energy. Watch for possible temper tantrums as emotions can run too hot in this sector. This secondary wealth star also brings fame and recognition. You can enhance this by placing Ru Yi in this area if this is your office, as well as other Wealth cures. You can either use traditional or symbolic cures. Gold Ingot, 3 legged money frog and Chi Ling are some of the traditional wealth cures. Flying star 9 belongs to Fire Element, as well as South. So this year Number 9 in it’s own home and if all cures placed carefully can bring some double money luck, especially for people born in the year of the Horse. Use red colors in all decorations, as well as Fire element shapes and number 9.  Use at lot bright lights and candles and place picture or statue for the horses here as well.

Summary for SOUTH:

Ru Yi for career luck and fame

Image of the statue of the horses

Elephant, Gold Ingot, Money Frog or Chi Ling

Red color and Fire element accessories

Candles and a lot of Lights
